White line on the artboard after exporting to PDF (?)

Hi there, so I have an issue while exporting my work as PDF. My work has black background which is bigger than artboard and after exporting to PDF pages getting white thin line around that I really don't need. Did anyone had the same problem? Is there a way to fix this problem?

I did simple test with black rectangle without stroke, bigger than artboard and I got the same thin white stroke from nowhere.

I'm using Illustrator CC 2017.

It might be an artifact.

  1. Open the exported PDF in Ai.
  2. Select Object and Release it from the Clipping Mask
  3. Select your object and interrogate properties on the Appearance Panel

Did you try opening it in Ai to confirm that it is not creating a line or if it indeed is an Acrobat artifact?

In Acrobat, try disabling Show art, trim and bleed boxes from Preferences > Page Display

In which application did you take the screenshot?

Does the line get bigger when you zoom in?

Good question Monika Gause ,

I opened it in Adobe Reader and the line didn't get bigger or smaller while zooming in or out. What do you think it might be?

It might just be marking the border of the page.
