Question

Why are colors not appearing as they should?

Does anyone else have a problem with the colors changing to way duller than they are supposed to be? While either moving the screen or turning layers (that have 100% opacity) off behind?

As stated in this post (https://community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator-discussions/illustrator-window-falls-behind-other-open-program-windows-so-you-can-barely-see-it/m-p/15482721#M452010), I JUST bought a new computer, so everything should be operating at the best efficiency, yet I'm having major problems with Illustrator. I have a Mac Studio Display and Mac Mini with M4 Pro chip and 20-core CPU and the latest version of Illustrator. Not only does the Ai window fall behind other windows while I'm working (just happened again), now the color is dulling out. I have attached a screen record for reference.

Why is THIS happening?

Hi @kaitlint82815752,

Thanks for sharing the details and the screen recording. Can you confirm if the dull color issue appears in all files or only with specific ones? It would also help to check if GPU Performance is enabled under Illustrator > Preferences > Performance and whether toggling it off and on changes anything.

Please also let me know if this happens consistently or only when switching layers or windows. If possible, share a sample affected file for testing. You can upload it to a public cloud service like Google Drive or Dropbox and share a download link, or if it's confidential, you can send it via DM on the community.

Looking forward to your update.

Abhishek
