Its partially grey when I select multiple objects. Is this normal?

Thanks for your replies.

GPU and CPU Preview was greyed out.

Overprint Preview and Pixel Preview didnt change anything.

I just embeded some images, saved, restarted AI, and its back to normal. Im on Mac Studio M1 Max.

So thay are raster images.

There have already been complaints about this or similar issues and as far as I remember they were triggered by using the Overprint Preview and/or Pixel Preview. But only on certain machines and no definite pattern why it occurs has been detected.
