hi Ton, one more question:  i selected these icons,  and i un-checked both overprint options, the white grahic immediatly shows!!! but these two overprint check box both show a short dash in it, and it won't go off,. what does that mean? and how can i fix it? or should i fix it?

There has been a discussion about this a couple of weeks ago. The dash can mean that some objects in a selection have Overprint on. But often it is just false alarm and should not be worried about.

In doubt, turn View > Overprint Preview on.

If white objects disappear, they are still set to Overprint and you should select them and turn it off.

If nothing changes, turn View > Overprint Preview off and don't worry about it.

You should turn off overprint. It is used for inks. White in Illustrator traditionally was the paper color, overprinting makes it disappear.
