Why isn't my background transparent when I save as this document in Illustrator.

The original document (ai.) had a transparent background when I imported it into InDesign. I wanted to change the color from green to white and when I did so, then "saved as" the background appears white.

Try to place it again in InDesign and check the import options during placing for Transparent Background.
