Why paths became shapes like this (without doing outline stroke)? How to convert them back to paths?

I dont know which step went wrong. Those shapes(pic 1) were supposed to be single paths(pic 2). How to convert them into single paths? Thanks!

A line created with the Line tool will be a shape.

A line created with the Pen tool does not become a shape.

Object > Shape > Expand Shape

Got it. But it still didn't work.So I had to rebuild the paths. I guess maybe it was because I selected all the paths to expand insteda of selecting the blended ones. anyway thanks!

Thanks, yes, expand does what it does when Stroke is checked.
