Why why my object shape centre to another?

Anyone know why this happens? I find it really annoying that i can't move that object to the centre of the object above it.

Sorry, I'm aware I can select both and align that way, but why won't it stick to the centre? if i make the shape bigger it has no problem doing it.

Unfortunately your screenshot is not big enough to see any details, buttons, options in the UI.

So guess: you have an RGB document, very tiny objects and Align to pixel turned on.
