Width at curved lines

Hi, I'm a new in Adobe community so I assume there's a simple solution to this problem. Buut, I can't seem to find one.

So, I mainly use caligraphic brush and a pen tool, and this keeps happening to me with curved lines. How do I keep them all the same width? Without it getting thicker at certain points...

If you need easy, here it is, the Blob issue solved by Kurt with the Effect>Distort & Transform>Zig Zag (setting the Size to 0 and Ridges per Segment to a sufficiently number (up to 100, you may get away with fewer)).

In your version, it has probably been been moved to the Appearance palette (click the Stroke listing).
