DANKE!

I have some gold rectangular frames in various sizes – and for a frame gallery, I now need the same design in an oval or circular shape. The rectangular ones are made up of four parts with different gradients. Unfortunately, I’m not very good at using Illustrator and can’t manage to create these shapes (round/oval). Can anyone help me or give me a tip? THANK YOU!

As TIna said: put the gradient on the stroke. In order to make light and shadow, expand the stroke, which will give you a gradient mesh. Then recolor the gradient on the side where you want to switch the lighting.

    Hi @cbmg,

You could find out the width and height of each rectangle (type the measurements above each one). Then, click on the ellipse tool (or press “L”) and click on your artboard. A pop-up will allow you to type in the width and height. Select the “align stroke to inside” in your stroke panel options. You can use the alignment tools to align each oval to the same positioning as the rectangles.

Adjust your stroke weight to match the thickness of the rectangular frames. Once you are happy with the stroke weight, select your ovals and go to “Object > Expand.” This will give you the option to fill in the frame of each.

Select a gradient colour and choose the “radial” gradient option. Adjust your colours so you reach a similar bevel effect.
