Will Illustrator allow me to use my artwork?

Hi, I wish to create artwork for fabric printing to be used for different printing mediums e.g Screen printing and digital printing. Will Illustrator allow me to use my own artwork/ images I will create from block/Lino printing or drawings etc? thank you for any advise. Deb

I am still finding it a little difficult to understand what you want to achieve.

If you would like to open up a scanned sketch in Illustrator for example, and use it as reference to create vector print designs then sure.

Hi Jane, sorry for delay. Yes that is correct. Another chap has said I can. Iwish to be able to use my own artwork/ drawings etc at times so I need to have a program that supports me with this. I could give my art work to someone and pay them to do what I need but I want to be able to have the ability to use a program and develope my surface designs myself. My biggest weakness at the moment is my lack of computer skills in this area of expertise. I am going to start this week with a free week trial on Illustrator.

Hello All, This question was asked several times and finally someone came up and understood what the original post was about. And still the question has gone unanswered. Can I/we use our own artwork in Illustrator? I am a mixed media artist and would love to find a foundation to use to let my artwork come to fruition. My question is the same as the original source of the content asked. Can I/we use our own artwork in ILLUSTRATOR? Please and thank you so very much.

You can use your own artwork. But depending on what you may want to do with the type of artwork, it may technically be impossible.

So maybe you want to explain what you want to do with your artwork and why you even think that Illustrator does not allow you to use your artwork.

Are you asking: if you create artwork in other applications or hand drawing, will you be able to open and use it in Illustrator?

Hi Simmer1, sorry my question is not clear enough, I do understand copyright of my finished work (images), but I need a computer program that I can create files of designs for fabric prints,

Will illustrator allow me to also use images that I create and copy to my computer or can I only use images that are saved in the Illustrators files.?
