Question

XP-PEN G640 pressure not available in illustrator

I´m trying to use an XP-Pen G640 in the latest version of illustrator but the pressure is not available as an option for the brushes. I already tried downloading wacom drivers, reinstalling xp-pen drivers, trying with windows ink but none of it makes it work. Just to be clear the pressure works great on photoshop and in the xp pen app. Don´t really know what else to do...

Do you have the latest XP-Pen driver installed? If you’re using a Windows PC it’s very difficult to get pressure sensitive functions in a graphics tablet stylus to work without enabling Windows Ink in the pen/tablet driver.

I have a Wacom Intuos tablet on my home setup, but I leave Windows Ink disabled in the tablet driver. Too many things get screwed up or even hijacked, such as the pen’s press and drag operations. If I want to click on something and move it I can’t do that because this annoying circle icon appears, trying (and failing) to do some sort of right-click function. My Wacom Pen has buttons on the side of it. After all these years Microsoft and Wacom have done nothing to fix that nonsense. Windows Ink is trash.

My own solution when I need to draw something with pressure sensitive functions: I grab my iPad and Apple Pencil and get the task done that way. At least that’s something that works.

Yeah I downloaded the latest today. The worst thing is that the pressure works great on other softwares, I mean even photoshop. Windows Ink is clearly not working good, disabled or enabled won´t change a thing. I´m just using some illustrator bruses and playing with the size. Couldn´t find any solutions online. I would love to have an ipad on which I could draw :(
