Document Save Performance Improvements
We’re thrilled to introduce our latest performance enhancement: significantly faster document saving. Illustrator now saves only the changes you make, rather than the entire file, resulting in much quicker saving times.
Switching to Gradient Uses Original Solid Color as Starting Gradient Color
What is it?
We’re excited to introduce an improved gradient behavior in Illustrator! With this update, when you apply a gradient to a shape with a solid fill, the gradient slider now intelligently picks up that fill color as the starting point instead of defaulting to black and white.
This update makes transitioning from solid fills to gradients smoother and visually consistent, enhancing your design workflow.
How to use it:
1. Apply a gradient to any shape with a solid fill, and watch the gradient slider start from that original solid color.
2. Whether you select a new shape, work with a pre-filled shape, or open the gradient panel without selection, the gradient adapts to reduce friction.
3. To reuse your last applied gradient, simply select it from the toolbar or the Gradients Panel Thumbnail dropdown.
