- Snap to grid enhancement
Based on the recent feedbacks, we are introducing a new control to switch between the new and the old snap to grid experience. The new experience allows for objects to snap to the grid as well as freeform movement, whereas the old behaviour allows the objects to only snap to the grid.

- Color Modernization: Color Picker Preview — Sample Colors with Total Confidence!
We’re excited to roll out the new Color Picker Preview in Illustrator — a smarter way to sample colors using the Eyedropper with Shift. Previously, color sampling with Shift often picked the underlying color without showing you exactly what would be applied, leading to unexpected results. Now, as you move the eyedropper across your artwork, you’ll see a live preview of the color that will be applied to your selected object — before you commit. How it works:
- Live Color Preview: While sampling with Eyedropper + Shift, a view pops up next to your cursor, showing the exact color you’re about to pick.
- What You See Is What You Apply: No more second-guessing or unintended fills — the preview reflects the precise final color that will be applied.
- Helpful for Complex Artwork: Especially useful when picking colors from gradients, effects, or blends — get clarity before applying.
This small but powerful addition makes color sampling faster, more accurate, and way more intuitive. Try it out — your colors (and your eyes) will thank you!
- Say hello to Recent Colors – your new color memory in Illustrator!
We’re thrilled to introduce the Recent Colors feature, now available in both the Swatches panel and the Color panel. Illustrator now automatically keeps track of the colors you’ve recently used, making it effortless to access and reuse them as you design. No more digging through hex codes or manually recreating colors — your most used colors are now just a click away. And that’s not all — you can now add any recent color as swatch by simply dragging it into the Swatches section. It’s the easiest way to build your own color palette on the go!
How it works:
- Smart Color Tracking: Recently applied fill and stroke colors show up in the Swatches and Color panels for quick access.
- Drag to Save: Like what you see? Just drag any recent color into the swatch area to save it as a swatch.
- Customizable Experience: Want a cleaner panel? You can disable Recent Colors anytime from the panel options.
Whether you're fine-tuning branding colors or simply experimenting, Recent Colors helps you stay in flow and stay consistent.
Try it out and let us know how it transforms your color workflow!
