Constrain vs. unconstrained Text Editing in Illustrator for the web (Beta)

Text defaults to constrained. Please keep Illustrator text to be unconstrained when stretching Text and use SHIFT key to constrain. Cannot figure out a quick or simple way to stretch text unconstrained.

HELP!! -I’m transitioning from having macbooks to chromebooks.
