Deleting anchor point {ILLUweb/ipad}

Hi,

I have a problem with anchor points. When I select them by clicking and then deleting a node - all the thickening of the line disappears. How do I get around this?

And how do I enable the tool that creates anchor points on the line in Illustrator WEB and on the iPad?
