Question

AI in Sampler ?

It makes just a "photo" first  and then you have to do image to material  , right?

So how can I make something not just  1x1  crasy visually  repeating thing   but rather  a texture  covering   like  4x8 meters  of a surface . A dirt road  for example ?    Are we not there yet with AI ?

Also Is content aware fill  AI powered ?     I have much better lack in Photoshop for some uncertain reason ?

ps. Wish we could have those AI features in Substance Designer .       I find Sampler  very inconvenient.   My textures are always blurrier and naive looking  from my Sampler approaches vs Designer.    Tried it through several Steam releases  before  , now still same impression.

Hello, do you mean this? Set the physical size after you drag and drop the generated texture?

Have you tried?

yes , I tried to set phisical size to 7x7 meters .    Absolutly no difference .    And more specific my description  for the generation is more fancy and unusable  the  result.

Somehow I am getting better chances  in Photosho so far.

The issue is with the genAI feature, where you can’t define the physical size of the material you are looking for. You tried to define the PS before the generation to try to “drive” it, but it does not work that way and it can’t be forced at the moment
The research team is currently looking into ways to modify the results for size, so maybe that possibility will come in the future

Thank you Ares.  My questions are actually following this exact video which I have alredy seen .

1. How can I generate something not just 1x1 meter?  They do upscale in this video but it looks same with this option off  too.

2. Can I use content aware to extend this 1 sqare meter ?   Like in Photoshop?     My guess I could geenerate 5-6  256x256 materials, tile them to 2k  and mix together to hide repetitve patterns  but usually it looks sort of naive  lacking any macro details  to give natural impression.    Works for tree barks only probably.      Is there any tool in sampler to do this "extend 1x1m"  seed?

Hi @kirill_7256

  1. There is no option in this tool today to define the physical size of the texture created, however the output is not fixed to one square meter. You could try to add words in your prompt where it would define a larger scale output!
  2. Content aware for the "exterior" to extend a texture like it exists in photoshop does ot exist in Sampler currently, and unfortunately we don't have any tools that would answer your need. However it is good for us to know that there would be a need for it to make this into a reality!
