Question

Embroidery Height Issues when Importing to Substance Painter

Hi there!

I keep running into this issue when importing embroidery assets from Sampler into Painter, and I haven't been able to find a way around it. Imported embroidery assets create negative height information around the edges which makes the embroidered asset look carved into the underlying surface instead of sitting on top of it.

I've attached an image of the height channel of an embroidered asset imported into painter and applied with a warp projection which is the workflow outlined in this official adobe tutorial. The red shows negative displacement. I've also attached an image of my settings in Sampler and the result I see in sampler.

Any help getting around this would be much appreciated!

Would it be possible to send us your Sampler project with the embroidery material you made as the logo image you want to use?

Thanks

Sure. Here you go. There are 3 materials in there which are 3 attempts to get around the same issue.

I am not sure in your case but you have to drop your material into embroidery input and make correction for embroidery to get exact result.
