Hi, I am using Substance sampler 3D for the first time. I need to made photos of our charity sculpture into a 3D .obj file. However, after I upload the 12 photos we have and submit them, as you can see in the photo it says there is an error but nothing happens when I click Learn more to find out why?

I've received the e-mail, thank you Jules.

First thing (but most important), as I mentionned in the previous message, you should at least have 20 pictures.

That being said, Substance 3D Sampler needs a certain consistency between images in order to work properly. From the Dataset you shared with me, I can see that all images have different proportion and no background. Make sure they share the same data (size, sensor size, focal length, rotation,…) and it should already help the mesh creation.

Hi @Jules264441720bg4,

Thank you for your message.

Usually, we advise to have at least 20 images, but the more you'll have, the better the result. In addition, the 3D capture from Substance 3D Sampler was trained to work with "real life" conditions, so it can have troubles understanding 3D render images.

That being said, I'd gladly take a look at your DataSet to make tests on my end. If you want, you can send me the images at cdellenbach@adobe.com with a link to this thread.

In the meantime, I always strongly advise to check our advanced tutorials serie on the matter if not already done.

Best regards,
