export the 3d model as png

Hello,

I saw a guy making a pattern with the stitch effect and when he moved it to photoshop it had the 3D effect.

When i try to download it, it only comes in 2D and looks terrible does anybody know how that works ?

there are some examples how the stitch should look like.

May be he use 3D Material and import it via Materials Panel on the object? Can you give more information about a reference link of that tutorial?
