The Floor Tiles filter now seems to have a baked in surface relief that is seemingly impossible to change or remove regardless of what texture generator is used. Am I missing something here?
You're right, the Floor Tile filter now has natively a grunge map to its surface. The goal was to mimic ceramic, but it definitely should have a slider in order to tweak the intensity. I've already notified the team of this issue.
In the meantime, you can simply drag and drop a texture generator in the layer stack, set it to the Height Channel, and add a Height to normal layer.
