Question

Pavement filter

Hi,

In the pavement filter I don't have the pattern style option, like in the tutorials, only pattern mask option with much less variation. Is it something new, or I missed something?

In addition, can you tell me which ressource you're looking for ? I can probably find something for you.

Hi,

Thank you for the response. In this case I wanted to use the "european fan" or the "flander weave" type. I don't understand this change. the previous solution seemed much more controllable.

For now, here are the two patterns you asked for as flat .PNGs. You can drag and drop them in the Texture Generator section.

The previous solution was more straightforward for sure, but the Texture Generator ressource offers way more control over material creation and that was one of the main demand from our users.

Hello @Balázs38027063lnkb,

Thank you for your message.

Indeed, Substance 3D Sampler received an important change with its 4.3 release back in January. It now has Texture Generator ressources which gives improved control over material creation using parametric noises, patterns and grunge options.

Doing these changes required to modify specific filters such as the Pavement filter. Instead of "Pattern Type", you're now supposed to plug Texture Generator in the filter's mask. This will basically do the same thing, but you'll gain more control over the mask.

That being said, I agree certain Patterns from the previous Pavement filter isn't currently in the Texture Generator library. I'll see what we can do for further updates, but bear in mind that you can also import your own Texture Generators.

Best regards,
