Substance Sampler incredibly slow all of a sudden.

My Substance Sampler (purchased through Steam) is all of a sudden incredibly sluggish and slow. Almost impossible to use.

I've attached the Log file, and hope someone can spot what is wrong!

And also another issue i would love to get fixed!

I can't delete materials or images imported into my library. I choose "Delete", and get the warning that it'll delete the original file on the disk, but nothing happens.

Hope to get help soon, as we're using it for production.

Thanks! 😉

Hello!

Thanks for the quick response!

I tried the above mention solution of deleting the folder, but it's still extremely slow, so nothings changed.

We have been subscribers of the full substance packagde for about 3 years, and decided to buy a STEAM license and end the subscribtion a few days ago. During those 3 years we've amassed a huge library of substance source materials, that we've downloaded and kept at hand on our systems.

We linked the folder with about 1000+ materials to Sampler, with the "Connect a Local Folder" and it seemed to work the first few days. We did notice that we couldn't delete Materials or Images that were imported to our Assets folders in Sampler.

The performance issue suddenly arose today, without us having seemingly changed anything else than delete some images on the PC, that had been used for some test materials. The images can't be removed in Sampler, and now shows as a "File", which again, can't be removed. When pressing "Delete", it asks us if we are sure, and when pressed yes, nothing happens and the dead file just stays there.

The performance is getting worse and worse, with us just from starting the software, and pressing "All Libraries", having to wait about 3-4 minutes 😞

Best Regards,
Simon

One thing that you can try is to rename (for back-up or delete this following folder:

~/AppData/Roaming/Allegorithmic (or Adobe)/Adobe Substance 3D Sampler

It will reset your Sampler. You will just need to reconnect your local folders if any.

Same here, sampler keeps crashing when drag and dropping an image file to convert. Browsing the texture improved it somewhat. Support suggested to revert to the older realtime engine 2020 as the 2021 engine is still beta. Also downloading substance sources is unuseable slow.

Problem here is that we have about 1000 substance source materials that we added to the lib, and we can't remove those now. Even if we change the folder, it still shows in Sampler, but of course shows an "error" texture.

So both materials and images added to Sampler can't be removed.

I've tried about everything at this point..

Hope someone's got some answers 🙂

Hi,
According to your Logfile "Your Asset" folder isn't accessible.
What I suggest is to copy the files in "C:/Users/simon/Documents/Allegorithmic/Adobe Substance 3D Sampler/yourAssets" and delete "yourAssets" folder (all of this with 3D Sampler shut).
Then launch 3D Sampler, you can try to relink the copied folder in your asset or via the linked collection feature (that you can unlink as you wish and when you wish).

Keep us update on how it goes!
