Hello,We're using FMIS 4.5 exclusively for recording streams from webcams via RTMP. We don't have a lot of load currently, maybe a couple hundred videos being recorded every day. Every 1 or 2 days the FMS starts logging "The FLV segment cache is full" and refuses to record anymore until a restart. I've adjusted the cache setting to the max for Linux:SERVER.FLVCACHE_MAXSIZE=3000I suspect that it's putting everything recorded into the cache, and refuses to record anymore when the cache is full. Why is it doing this? The files are written to disk, why won't the data be evicted from the cache? Am I misunderstanding what's happening?Thanks for your help.

I have this application that connects to an AMS instance over RTMP and, using NetStream.publish, I stream a video to the server for storage and playback.99% of the time this works, but every so often, a video will be saved with a size of 15KB or less. These videos are corrupted and cannot be played back.Then, suddenly, none of the videos would stream properly, and they all kept coming out with a size of 1KB. I had to restart the server, and the issue cleared up. All users could get Net.Connection.Success events, so they could connect to the server just fine, they just couldn't stream their videos to the server.Why does this happen? Hi,I'm using a recent version of CamTwist and the newest Flash Media Live Encoder on OS X Mavericks. FMLE does not find the CamTwist video device and tells me there is none on startup. This isn't right because the CamTwist device is found correctly by all other apps (Skype etc.).So what's wrong here and how do I fix this?

Using licensed FMIS v4.5.1 r484 x64.RTMPT stops working every once in a few days. Restarting FMS fixes the issue. When the problem occurs both RTMP and RTMPT connections generate the following error in master.00.log:Failed to signal process condition: errno(43)Despite the error RTMP works but RTMPT does not. I can't seem to find any books to purchase on Adobe Media Server 5 or even tutorials, is there a reason for this? Is AMS gone by the wayside?

Hello. We are considering doing HTTP video streaming on our intranet. We have approximately 500 employees and would want to be able to stream approximately 10 - 50 one-way connections at one time. What version of Adobe Media Server would you recommend to support this?After reading more about streaming, we would probably want to support the progressive download method.

I installed Adobe media Server free edition for test some capabilities. I have an issue when i try to log in the admin server by the browser. I can see the htm page in the browser but the login it is not correct. I have all the settings from conf ams.ini checked.I tried to test the port connection and i saw that 1935 and 1111 ports hace connection rejected when i telnet the machine. I configure iptables, save and restart on the centos machine, but the connection is still rejected. That is a VPS virtual private server, but i confused with the information that round for there.Have i set some parameter for start to use the ams on the centos 6 vps?Thank you very much.Enrique

THERE is NO solution to the fact that Flash Live Encoder can not recognize camtwist. I open up the camtwist first so my camera is all set up, then I put in my streaming code to the Encoder and everything works properly untill I can only see my Facetime built in Camera, when I should be seing more than one video device.. I want to record my desktop and stream it.. Is Camtwist not a good program? Any other suggestions or solutions!? Please LET ME KNOW QUICK! FIX FLME..... Thanks. I encountered a peculiar issue with FMIS 4.5 that you may know how to resolve.As you know it is possible to configure RTMP VoD caching with FMIS in Vhost.xml config file when a node is configured as a proxy:<CacheDir enabled="true" useAppName="false">        <Path>/tmp/</Path>        <MaxSize>10</MaxSize></CacheDir>In this folder FMIS creates "buckets" (i.e. directories) with chunks of data, as it’s clearly stated in FMIS documentation.Is there _any_ way to modify this behavior?What I need exactly is a way to flatten this structure, or even add a prefix:/cache/app_name/bucket/chunk  --> /cache/app_name=bucket=chunk/cache/app_name/bucket/chunk  --> /cache/prefix=app_name=bucket=chunkAny information would be highly appreciated.Thank you.An extract from documentation regarding caching:Streams that are played via an edge server can optionally be cached on that edge serv

I am creating flex mobile application , that allows people to connect using a android camera and microphone,then recording video from android camera to Flash Media Server(FMS) 5 starter using adobe flex but when I play the recorded live video from FMS it's missing some frames. I have set the camera.fps to 30 but when I trace out the currentFPS for camera  30 and  netStream's currentFPS  returns low value, usually falls between 2 and 5 (high 1280X720),15 and 20(medium 640x480),25 and 30(low 320X240).where netStream is the object of the flash.net.NetStream class

I just purchased a Mac Pro Book and install adobe's FMLE app.  It does not recognize (DETECT) the Built in camera.  It works with an external camera.  And I have verified that the isight does work with the installed apps, Facetime and Iphoto.  Any suggestions?

Is it possible to store the username and password for an Adobe Media Server authentication plugin in the Porfile.xml file used by the Live Media Encoder?Alternatively is it possible to pass the login details as parameters in the stream name?

Hi,I have an application in which we use application.onDisconnect when a user logs out. In all browsers, we can see in the FMS admin console that the user has indeed been disconnected, except when the user uses Chrome. It can take minutes before the application.onDisconnect is fired.Known issue? Any work around?Thank you

FMS 4.5 on centOS 6.2Issue - error in stream either encoder issue or packet loss (rtmp sent to server to livepkgr HTTP streaming out, using f4m for flash machines and m3u8 for iOS) causes FMS to ramp up memory until 100%usage causing the server to crash.  why is this happening????? need help pronto! We are running FMS 4.5.7 with standard livepkgr application for live RTMP and HLS streaming (HDS module disabled). For some reason after about 30 minutes httpd process starts using more and more system memory and in about a minute or so it crashes the server because it drains memory completely. It doesn't matter how many users are connected to the stream. What I noticed is that if there is no HLS users (or HLS is disabled) everything is fine, however it is enough to connect at least one HLS user to the server after 30 minutes and the memory usage starts rising. If the user connects into 0-30 minute window it works.I have tried to play with stream recording options in Event.xml for that stream but it didn't help. I have tried to record into one file and into segments.Our server has 32GB of RAM.We have modified Apache configuration file to Sandbox HLS streams at instance level, but it should not be a problem, shouldn't it?<Location /hls-live>    HLSHttpStreamingEnabl

Hello,we have few FMS/AMS servers, versions 4, 4.5 and 5, running some kind of internet TV tubes on them.Each tube is supposed to run as unique instance of a Tube app, with unique settings for publishing to CDN (Akamai).Sometimes following scenario happens: We reload the stream via administration console or administration API with use of reloadApp command, instance starts closing sequence, even triggers onAppStop event. But as the new instance starts, the old process wakes up again and lives together with the new one - when I check then throught administration API with use of getActiveInstances command, it shows me more instance of the same name as result - for example:-<data> <_0>tv_app/tube25</_0><_1>tv_app/tube2</_1> <_2>tv_app/tube21</_2><_3>tv_app/tube2</_3> <_4>tv_app/tube2</_4></data>From logs I can see that each of that instances runs under different process ID (x pid column).This is quite unpreffered behav

Hi,I was hoping that someone could assist me.Our organisation has recently purchased Adobe Media Server Standard to deploy to two Windows 2008 R2 servers (core edition) to stream flash content (video on demand only) which is resident on NAS storage.I have considerable difficultly in streaming content from NAS and from the literature I have read and the configuration I have done it should be possible.The steps I have taken to attempt to get this to work are as follows:Installation- Installed AMS 5.0.1 on both servers using the default TCP ports and Apache was not installed as part of the install- Both AMS instances upgraded to the latest release AMS 5.0.3- Windows Firewall on the servers disabled (we use hardware firewalls) and TCP connectivity verified by using telnet to connect these servers on 1935 and 80Initial Configuration- As we only will be using video on demand I removed the live, livepkgr and multicast applications from the /applications folder.
