Set everything up with default URLs as per the clip on the Adobe website. The encoder (FMLE 3.2) says it's streaming to the server  (AMS 5 on Windows Server 2012). The Admin consolel on the server shows the connection, but shows thousands of Bytes per second in, and none out. The stream won't play in the video player on the server using URL: rtmp://localhost (or localhost:8134)/hds-live/livepkgr/_definst_/liveevent/livestream.f4m. Typing the server IP into a browser on another computer gives a "Service Unavailable" error. Please help. Thanks.

Hi.We've tried to use PHLS feature for live streams with AMS 5.0.3. It doesn't work. We are using livepkgr to capture audio with AMS Standard. Since server-side scripting is not available with AMS Standard, we are using a PHP script to manipulate captured audio. Everything works well in testing, but we are wondering about the following.When we close an audio capture session with:   nsPublish.attachAudio(null);   nsPublish.close();can we assume that all the audio data has been written to the stream file? What if the server is busy with many simultanenous capture sessions? Is there a way to verify that a steam file is complete, closed, and ready for processing?Thank you very much!

Hi,i'm trying to stream HDS content with adobe media server 5 last revision.I successfully setup a live streaming (monobitrate) with the default livepkgr event following the tutorial, the HLS stream plays fine but the HDS stream that i try to play with both strobe media playback and flash media playback always gives me a 1009 type error after a few seconds.What am i doing wrong?ThanksPS. the configuration is the default one for pretty much everything

Dear customer,We are glad to announce the availability of AMS 5.0.3 .This hotfix release provides a refresh to the certificates used by PHDS, PHLS and PRTMP content protection. The certificates provided with the earlier releases will expire in August 2013. I'm running AMS 5 to jwplayer.  I have gotten the HLS streams to playback live streams, but need to find a way to store this content for playback at anytime. Is this possible?

I need to have a new adobe media server to be an edge server for support more concurrents. Now, i have one server with adobe media server 3.5 . I don't know what to do the first. I have read the manual for install edge server but, i don't understand it clearly.What's the type of license to be an edge server with compatibility with my old server.

Hey gurus,We have one centralized storage server that stores videos, Lets call this Server A, we have 4 more servers that we want to use to load the files from Server A to load balance and location balance the loading of files.Servers B-E are on a private VLAN with Server A; so what we're doing now is mounting Server A on to Servers B-E and serving the files via AMS; this has proved to be quite inefficient.For Live Streams; we use multi-point publishing to achieve this; is there a way to do this with recorded files?Please advise!Thanks

I would be grateful if someone could explain the pRTMP packaging wofkflow. In the section titled About Protected RTMP, it states:           "Adobe Media Server encrypts on-demand media files and embeds a Adobe Access 3.0 license in the DRM metadata of the content." The construction of this sentence makes it difficult to reach a definite conclusion. Is the encrypting of media files performed on-demand or are on-demand media files encrypted? Given the fact that pRTMP "supports all the on-demand file formats and codecs that RTMP supports except F4M, RAW, and F4F", and that no offline packaging is mentioned in the article or elsewhere, it seems that AMS is responsible for packaging and encrypting content on the fly. I have multiple instances in an application and want to count the number of connected clients in each instance, and then make this information available to all clients connected to the application, in ex. a SharedObject. This way I can sync on changes every time a client is connected or disconnected without havint to write externally to a php page, and then use a timer to get this information back to each client, this slows down the sql server when hundreds of users are connected to hundreds of instances.Is there a equivalent function to application.clients.length for the application across all instances, or a way to make a SharedObject run "globally" on the application and not on each instance?

Hi, I have been using Adobe Media Server 5, and lately I have issues on frequent disconnection of streaming playback.The playback is running seamlessly until it abruptly stops, no "Buffering" indicator or whatsoever.I am running the playback via HTTP. Network is OK.Upon checking the logs, there is a message like:[Wed Oct 23 23:19:07 2013] [info] Failed to read fragment from f4f file. Hi everyoneStarted a streaming site offering free streaming a few months back and since then it has taken off.We are now planning on moving to dedocated servers as "the cloud" is not big enough for us and the bandwidth is very overpriced.We are working on getting a 1gbps port server that will be able to streaming 900-1000 users at one time.There wont be that many on it for a while but we are hosting events that would be getting 700 users, plus the already 100 or so on the site we need to be able to take that amount of users.We are also hositng about 1.5TB of videos for charitys and nonprofits so would also be having people watching them, but not very many.What spec server would I need for this?Thanks.PS, lowest spec and an ideal spec suestions would be greatJack,
