We are using ffmpeg to convert 3 videos at -b 1500k, -b 1200k, -b 800k.  We are using the flash media server that uses a F4M config file to stream either a large, medium, small videoMy question is should the videos be streamed back to user at bitrate 1500, 1200, 800?Or does it matter that the bitrate to be streamed back to user is listed as 900, 600, 200?

What is the way to go in order to implemt closed captions to AMS 5? I read the developer guide but its not much help..I was expecting something like this to work.... But is not working > The player has the "CC" icon in place but not closed captions are showing up. Hi,I have Adobe Media Server 4.5 and I am doing live stream but some other doamin also stealing my live content and I want to prevent access to other domain accept mine only one.  Please advise how can I restrict other doamin to access my live content from livepackger which is http and rtmp live streaming. 2 part questionUnder applications and streams for VOD what exactly is cache hits and misses.  also is there an option that if you pause VOD video it will still continue to download to clients computer for people who have slow internet connections Thanks

I have been unable to successfully establish a single video player object (similar to when delivering single-bitrate streams via FLVPlayback component with Flash Pro) that will automatically detect the browser type and automatically deliver the appropriate .f4m or .m3u8 manifest when broadcasting using HTTP adaptive bitrate streaming with FMLE3 and AMS5.I have both the HDS and HLS streaming working separately--the AMS5 sample videoPlayer.html file will accept and play video content when fed the URL: http://csitsfms.sys.oakland.edu/mbrBlack.f4m; however, I have not had success in getting any .f4m streams initiated in any other fashion.Also, HLS streaming is verified to be working on: http://csitsfms.sys.oakland.edu/mbrBlack.m3u8 when using an option such as VLC Player's File -> Open Network Stream command.The end desired result is that a user will navigate to  a particular URL and the browser autodetects whether to deliver the .f4m or the m3u8 manifest and initiate the appropria

We have a platform implementing CometChat product, this producto has Audio Video Chat, using RTMP stream, we rent Influxis.com service because they offered to record each streaming from CometChat AVChat, we want to know if its possible to achieve this using Adobe Media Server, because CometChat request a lot of money to record them, so, we need to know if this is possible just buying the Adobe Media Server, because we have our own Virtual Server, so we can Install it there and use it, but we want to know if there is something that need tos do CometChat, because that things will cost a lot for us.Please, any help would be great, its really Urgent, our site its in use now, and we need to record every stream because our site manages children interactivity, so, because of security this its really urgent.Thanks in advance.Mike

Hello guys!!I follow the topic http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1138359 and i can install and run FMS in my ubunt 64 (last version).Rebooting the server i got problems. I cant see any error starting the service but the fms cant works anymore.Any ideas?

But we find that this long connection is not reliable. A long connection between a client and server will disconnect automaticly.  Unfortunately, the client can not test this change succesfully and the server dont  always notice the client. How can we deal this problem?Thanks 

Occasionally clients are disconnected without a reason. The client-side-code is not closing the connection. On server-side only application.onDisconnect is executed - but who done it? How to check for unforced disconnects (client or server)?

Hello All, I am having some connection issues with the NetStream and NetConnection classes in my application.I am trying to connect to my webcam via Adobe Media Server so I can publish audio, video and other forms of data to Flash Media Server. HiI am creating a small chat application using Flash Media server. I have already created all my user interface components in Flex(Adobe AIR).In this application rather than sending text messages user can also  send  file to another user in his friend list.problem what i am facing is, when i am sending file through FMS most of time it send successfully but for some files while sending  application loss netconnection.so i would like to know, rather than closing application what are other condition when FMS loses network connection?Any help would be appreciated .Thanks.

I need to work on a P2P program (2 person as a group，there are many groups), and need to record their video （2 video files within 1 group） , recording in AMS is not a option because of the low bandwidth of AMS side.Any suggestion??!!!!

Hi AllI'm new to this product.We have 6 live tv channels which we encode and send it to FMS 4.5 via livepkgrFrom there we let our visitors view those channels.Now we have notice that lots of other websites are stealing our streams.I have spend almost 4 days trying to protect it so you can only view those stream from our domain.  However no matter what I did so far unable to protect it.I came accross this forum and learned that you can use allowedHTMLdomains.txt and allowedSWFdomains.txt on live streaming, however we are using livepkgr not live.How can we protect our stream to only be view from our domian?I'm very new to this so please explain step by step.Any help is very much appreciated.

Using the Flash Media Admin Console, I can view connections that are made to the applications via the RTMP protocol.  I can see the number of users connected to each application, as well as which streams are being viewed.  Is there any way to view these same type of reports for the HLS connections?Thanks.
