HiI've installed AMS starter on CentOS 5.8 x64, can anyone point out how to implement the following sets of requirements.1. one way only live stream (video and voice)2. Users will stream live via mobile devices but I don't think adobe provides with any mobile solutions to acomplish this, moreover those live streamed content has to be stored on a mobile device as well as the server’s side.3. P2P Connection – so particular users own recorded content; that’s why I need a way to differentiate the stored material (each name of the live stream must be unique e.g. user name + datetime of the record or just GUID)4. Need a way to download stored videos on demand, once via live stream server (just normal stream - vod), and also via web services or ftp5. Upto 100 Concurrent live streaming and lastly5. How to improve quality of streamed content, does it totally depends on the encoding format a user chooses while streaming? Thanks in advance.Joy
I have an application to which a user publishes live stream . Before publishing stream I need to check if stream already exist . How can I do that ? I used myStream = Stream.get(streamName)if(myStream){ trace("Exist");}else{ trace("Not Exist");}It always returns true and it looks like it creates a stream if it doesnt exist . How else can I check this ? If stream already exist and if some one replublishes it , stream looks little jittery .http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flashmediaserver/ssaslr/WS5b3ccc516d4fbf351e63e3d11a11afc95e-7e42SSASLR.html#WS5b3ccc516d4fbf351e63e3d11a11afc95e-7f39SSASLR
Hello,I am currently attempting to migrate a web server. Ideally, the original server would have used FMS's packaged Apache, however, this was not the case. The problem I am encountering is as follows: The external Apache is Listening on port 80. However, FMS also requires port 80 for the server to function properly.I've tried removing FMS's dependence on port 80 in fms.ini. However, this leads to the client-side streaming software to not be able to detect the server at all. The best solution I've discovered thus far is configuring the external Apache to Listen on port 8134, as FMS forwards all non-fms related traffic to port 8134. However, this is a flawed solution. There is a distinct lag and the webpage itself does not act properly. I know that it is possible to have both FMS and the external Apache to simultaneously bind to port 80 as this was the case in the previous server's configuration. However, I cannot figure out how this was done.Any and all help and/or suggestions would be

I'm starting to get TypeError - Error#1009 when trying to stream live data.I followed the online tutorial and the server was working fine. Then it started giving these error messages.VOD still works fine, it's just the live streams that are now failing.Any ideas as to what's wrong?ThanksJB
Hello there,I want to deploy protected VOD service for iOS on AMS, but for now I can't prepare an AIR application for our service. So I'm planning to start with vanilla protection.I know vanilla is only option can be played on iOS Safari/Quicktime without specific application.I wonder whether customers can play once download streamed movie without server connection.I can't find how the scheme works in the help document.I just make sure customers can't play local downloaded contents.Thank you.
I have a server side application .asc file . I want to add my own function in it and call it from client side action script . How is this possible ?
I have tried countless times in finding out from Adobe what would be the best solution to use the already 100s of videos encoded to H.264 in the mp4 container. Unfortunately, salesmen never know the answer yet keep asking me to buy. What benefits, if any is there to encoding to F4V over MP4 other than the ability to inject metadata without having to use a sidecar xmp file like you would if using MP4? The only downside I see with going F4V is that files will not be playable on set tops, gaming consoles, and also iPods.Does FMS protect files already encoded to MP4 and if not, is there a tool to rewrap the MP4 into a F4V?My overall goal is to be able to put all metadata needed into the file and use actionscript 3 to populate the information on a web page and in the future an AIR app. I would love to pull the trigger and buy FMS but it just seems like the salesmen are reading from a brochure and never once address my questions let alone find me answers.Any help is greatly appreciated.
I have implemented player with IP Multicast using Adobe flash media server . I have two multicast servers , so if one multicast server fails I want to play stream from another multicast server . But In case of IP Multicast a connection to server is never made so how can I detect a failure in that case inside flash player ?
We are planning a large scale streaming event in the future and are trying to estimate the maximum number of user connections that our FMS 4.5.2 Interactive Server can handle. The server is Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard, 4GB RAM, 64-Bit OS and has 1Gbps bandwidth available. For simplicity if we encode a single stream at 500Kbps, what would the estimated maximum number of client connections that the server would be handle? Thanks,Dave
Hi, we are publishing a live rtmp stream to /live application. At low bitrates < 1mbps, playback is smooth. Around 2.5mbps issues get noticable, and at 5mbps stream is not playable - cannot play 2 seconds of video straight. This is being tested on a local network, 1 publisher and 1 viewer, FMS 4.5 being on redhat 5.Wireshark capture shows a lot of delay between audio packets and video packets. When audio packets are at time 27.0, we see video packets at timestamp 8.0 (~20 second delay). We tried to turn off agrregate messages, live queue, et al according to http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flashmediaserver/configadmin/WS5b3ccc516d4fbf351e63e3d119f2925e64-7ff0.html#WSd4da1475f4e0dbda-2663a64312a19f4f1cb-8000but found no improvement in the streams.Looks like a simple remux problem. Does anyone have any idea about this issue? Thanks.
HelloWe have configured a base in install of AMS on amazon web serviceshttp://ec2-174-129-168-64.compute-1.amazonaws.com/the pre canned AMS.We setup all the event.xml for live hds with FAS <Event><EventID>liveevent</EventID><Recording><FragmentDuration>4000</FragmentDuration><SegmentDuration>400000</SegmentDuration><ContentProtection enabled="true"> <ProtectionScheme>FlashAccessV2</ProtectionScheme> <FlashAccessV2> <ContentID>RENAME</ContentID> <CommonKeyFile>commonkey.bin</CommonKeyFile> <LicenseServerURL>http://123.com:80</LicenseServerURL> <TransportCertFile>transport-cert.der</TransportCertFile> <LicenseServerCertFile>license-server-cert.der</LicenseServerCertFile> <PackagerCredentialFile>packager-cert.pfx</PackagerCredentialFile> <PackagerCredentialPassword>lookatme</PackagerCredentialPassword> <policy-file>whoknows
We've been trying every trick to fix a problem with long lag time in video startup in some environments. In particular, there's a long time gap between the time the custom .swf skin appears and the video starts to play. Only some combinations of OS for the FMS server and client browser shows the problem, but for those combinations it is consistent and appears to be a constant of approximately 59 seconds, regardless of the length of .mp4 or number of times played in our custom .swf. (Our .swf accepts a supplied file location for the .mp4 to stream.)On our main server (Win2008R2), we run a virtual machine that has Win2008R2 installed. If you click on the video URL from a Mac Safari browser on MacBookPro, the load is FAST (a few seconds). On the other hand if you click from IE on any Windows machine (VM or native, Win7 or WinX), the load is SLOW (one minute). If you try locally on the server virtual machine with the FMS and web server (IIS) installed, the load is also SLOW. The reference
We have an urgent problem, when FMS(port 80) is taken as proxy of Apache(port 8080). When a POST from client to server, in >50%, no response from the server, and I captured the packets using wireshark, found that no 200OK from http server. To figure out if it is the problem of Apache or FMS, we access the web form in port 8080 to Apache directly, the 200OK is sent back very immediately in 100%. So we can draw a conclusion that the problem is from FMS.So FMS guys, could you figure out how to solve it???
As there are now support for http streaming for iOS devices in recent releases of the Flash Media Server, is it possible to deliver streamed audio/video that originates from a SIP phone, through the FMG to FMS and on down to an iPhone or iPad?Or might there be some restriction on using the FMG here? Thanks,John Hermanski
We've been experiencing issues with live streams getting stuck buffering. I've verified all the stream files are being created correctly on the FMS 4.5.2 server.I can see the streamsegxxx.f4f file size growing so I know data getting to the server. The issue only seems to happen when we first start the live streams, after completing the steps below it usually never seems to be a problem again for the remainer of the streaming event. Is the FMS server hung up or something? The log files never seem to have any useful information to help identify the issue. Is there something specific I should look for in the log files and which log file should I be looking at? The only solution we've found that seems to resolve the issue is to:1. Stop the encoders and live stream.2. Stop the FMS/Apache services.3. Delete the stream files.4. Restart the FMS/Apache services.5. Restart encoders and start pushing the live stream again. Thanks,Dave
Is there a possibility we can feed a rtmp source to AMS and stream from there to a player? The requirement is we will be getting a RTMP source from an external provider, the feed we are receiving should be routed through our AMS. Is it possible? Please let me know your inputs. Here is the complete use case:1) we will have multiple contentowner, which publish there stream url to use. 2) we using AMS (adobe media server 5) and JW player to stream3) from movie page, when user click the stream, we need the following action to happen4) JW player query the AMS with stream url published by content owner, in turn AMS query the published stream of content owner and stream it through AMS and output is provided to JW. these action must be dynamic / programmatic controlled. currently we are aware of the use of Live encoder GUI application to start the stream, but we need solution to get this done dynamically. Please suggestThanks

Since ti cant find any mail to send this issue to, ill post it here in hope someone in team will notice it.When trying to download Linux version och Media Server Starter, it does not start...the reason is when looking in Developer tools in chrome, seems there's URL problem,Chromes tries to download Linux file from:Request URL:http://www.adobe.com%20http//trials3.adobe.com/AdobeProducts/NoSAP/5/all/AdobeMediaServerStarter_5_x64_LS1_All.zipAs you see there's adobe.com at the beginning that breaks the link due missing colon in real url i guess. Here is the real link that also works, if anyone needs it.http://trials3.adobe.com/AdobeProducts/NoSAP/5/all/AdobeMediaServerStarter_5_x64_LS1_All.zip

Is there some example code of how to display the number of users currently watching a live event?I've tried using the admin api methods getUsers, etc... But it only returns one client connection which is my encoder connected pushing the live stream to the server. It nevers seems to return any client/user connections. Is this because the client is connecting via http instead of rtmp? my code snippet to view the stream. Show I change the protocol to RTMP?<object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" width="512" height="288" align="middle"><param name="movie" value="StrobeMediaPlayback.swf"></param><param name="FlashVars" value="src=http://fms.dave.net/livesports.f4m&poster=posters/poster.jpg&autoPlay=false&playButtonOverlay=true"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="StrobeMediaPlayback.swf" type="application/x-s
Greetings,I am very new to media server, and I would like to be able to stream a live video feed to set top boxes on a local IP network. Is this something that is easily done with Media Server, and if so, which set top boxes are recommended? Thanks,David
Hi,Can anyone please tell me how can I play http live streaming from FMLE 3.2 to Flash player, iphone, ipdad, HTML5 player, Android and other devices?I have tried my best to play live streaming usine FMLE 3.2 with help of "http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flashmediaserver/devguide/WSd391de4d9c7bd609-52e437a812a3725dfa0-8000.html" but not able to play video using HTTP. With Flash Media Interactive Server 4.5, I figured out how to stream to ipads and iphones (and Androids of course because they use flash), but I cannot figure out anywhere how to stream to a Windows Phone 7 or 7.5 . Does anyone know of any documentation how to do this? I want to stream in a browser, not external app like Youtube has.--Bryan
