Cannot import image or add layer

I attempted to import an image and received the error "could not complete your request because of a program error". I then attempted to add a layer and received the same error. The initial file type I was trying to import was a .tif file, so I changed the file type to .png and still encountered the same issue. I relaunched PS and created a new project and nothing seems to be fixing the error. Could it be due to file sizes?

Open Preferences with Ctrl k (Cmd k)

Hit the reset button

and restart Photoshop

Could you please elaborate on how to reset your preferences? I am a new user of Ps web so haven't figured it all out yet.

@default303643872wqjd7 are you talking about Ps web or desktop, you have selected web as the topic and we want to be sure we understand where you are seeing this issue.

That's the sort of messed up behavour that will probably come right by resetting Preferences. We have to remember that this is a beta version, so is much more likely to get its knickers in a twist.
