Generative fill not respecting my selection

The generative fill is no longer respecting my selections and either adding to much feathering or just expanding my selection. 

For example in my job I cut out a lot of number plates to blank them. 

Feather is set to zero. Yet it still massively expands my selection for the generative mask. 
This now results in unsatifactory results and is not the precision that was in previous versions. 
What is the point of making a selection, setting the feather to zero,  just to be ignored. 

In fact further investigation. Photosho Beta 26.9.0 is ok. Photoshop 26.8.1 is awful.
