Generative fill quit working

I was able to use gen fill about 3-4 days ago. Now it doesnt do anything. ill explain my process.

1: open file and use lasso tool to select area for removal.

2: hit the gen fill, and generate.

3: it goes thru the progress bar and then when done. nothing has changed. same pic from original and the other samples.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled, have uipdated and am using current programs beta and original. neither work.

i am signed in adobe cc and im not using grayscale and my layer isnt locked. 

Is something wrong with the lasso tool? is something clicked that shouldnt be? It was fine 3 days ago. I am on a mini mac with 400gb free space on drive. 

My mac was updated over a week ago to Sonoma 14.5 Photoshop is 25.9.1
