Question

How Far Back Can I Obtain Beta Versions?

Given the new changes to reference photo that completely ruins my workflow, I will have to stay with beta 26.6 forever if the new ref photo is all there is.

So in CC all I see is two beta version options back. Can I not go back further? Otherwise 26.6 will be gone soon and I won't have a way to go back if I try out new beta versions.

And will Beta 26.6 expire on my PC?

Thanks

What about using the production Photoshop 2025 (ps ver 26.6.1) instead of the Photoshop Beta?

Adobe wants users to use the most current Photoshop Beta versions in order to test out the new features and look for bugs.

Production PS does not have refererce photo and now the beta has a new totally different version of it that doesn't work the same.

I can see where you are coming from on this.  The Firefly Ai related functions are evolving at such a pace, it can be hard to keep up to date with a workflow that actually works.  Unfortunately, and as far as I know, there is no way to step back with beta versions.  I think we pretty much _have_ to keep up with the updates.

Is your issue with Generative Fill, or creating entire background images?

If the latter, then does Edit > Generative Workspace work for you? It allows both Style an Composition references.  It also has effects options like Firefly.

If you are wanting use Generative Fill via the Contextual Tool Bar then the Reference Image option show after you click on Generate.

If you insted make your selection and go Edit > Generative Fill then the larger Options Window opens after you click on the small Insert Reference Image.

Does that cover what you are trying to achieve?  I can barely keeping up with it myself truth be told. 🙂

Thanks for the info. My use case is in the new thread of comparisons I posted. I have tens of thousands of prompts with ref image that needs to be done for years to come. I need the normal practical solution within photoshop.
