I'm stuck in the Expansive mode when I want to change the background using AI. How do I move from Expansive to AI?

Be sure the first option is selected, so you can use the crop tool like always.

What do you mean by "expansive mode"?

When you say "AI", do you mean specifically Generative Fill or some of the other AI that has been in Photoshop for a number of versions?
