Item with Transparency gets "filled" in to match

I have this PNG which has some transparency. Every time I try to use generative fill I get something that fills in the holes to match rather than the background peeking through. I have tried everything. Hoping someone can help!

    Hi @nlb497 I wouldnt run generative fill on the transparent layer with the object. Hide the transparent layer and work on the background layer or a new layer beneath it if you are trying to replace the backgound image.
