Question

Linking a PDF sometimes destroys the original linked document

This seems to be a re-occuring bug, basically when linking a PDF document, it will sometimes permanently delete every page after the first in the original linked document outside of photoshop. This means losing an edited PDF and having to redo a lot of work. No fix has been found for this, and attempting to reopen the document outside of Photoshop shows only the first page of a multi page PDF.

Thank you for the update. Unless you can find a way to repeat the issue it is hard for the team to know where to go to see what might be the cause.  Please let us know if you are able to find steps that we can use to reproduce this issue.

Thanks,

Hi CShubert,

It happens in both, and it's sporadic as to when it happens, but I'm working with civil plans that are in PDF's. It happens sometimes, not all the time, but I can't seem to reproduce it on demand. The process is I edit a PDF in a PDF editor to clean it up, remove excess. I then place the LINKED PDF into PS, usually repeating this process multiple times for each page, where I then align all the pages and export as PNG's. It's during the placing of the linked PDF that the problem arises.

Hi @Lucas_Dev please share your workflow/steps where you see this issue.  Does it also happen in Ps relrease version or just Ps Beta?  Does it happen with ALL PDF files or some?

Thanks,
