Locking Up when adding Effects

Problem Description: When working on images and adding Effects to layers, the program locks up & I have to close & restart. It will be fine & then randomly locks up. Inner Shadow, Inner Glow & Color Overlay seem to be the main culprits & I've had it happen just adding a drop shadow.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Add an effect such as inner shadow
2. Inner Glow
3. Color Overlay

Hi Pete, I was thinking it was my computer so I did check the GPU Compatibility test. I've attached a screen shot to show you the results... The freeze up does not occur when I'm using the PS v 23.1 just on the Beta version... Thanks, Tim

Hi tloomis,

Thank you for reporting this crash while working with Layer Effects and for adding the screenshot.

Can I ask if you used the Beaker/beta panel to get to the bug report form?

For troubleshooting, a few questions for you since I haven't been able to reproduce this just yet:

  1. Does the non-beta Photoshop hit this same crash for you?
  2. Have you tried going through any of the GPU troubleshooting just yet?
  3. Can you provide Photoshop (beta)'s Help > System Info text here (either pasted in a message or put in a txt file and attached works!)?

Many thanks for the report.

Regards,

Pete
