New Beta Firefly model for Generative Fill/Expand, and Reference Image for GenFill. Fix for Opacity
New GenFill/Expand Model in 9/9 Photoshop Desktop Beta
A test version of the Firefly Model for Generative Fill, Generative Expand, and Reference Image for GenFill in Photoshop for desktop was released to our public Beta on 9/9.
The benefits users should see:
- better generation quality than the previous beta builds
- better prompt understanding compared to previous beta builds.
- Fix for the Opacity workflow bug (went to beta on 9/5)
This reinstates the ability to use a semi-transparent mask to control the intensity of Generative Fill variations (Like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZUJSIzCW5L4)
or to give a photo a painterly effect (Like this: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/zLdLlj712Fg) - Reference Image for Generative Fill improvements (more realistic shadows & scale)
Please grab the latest Prerelease/Beta build and try some Gen-Fill Fun and Gen-Expand Excitement! And don't forget to rev up & revisit Reference Image.
We'd love to hear your feedback and see files.
Thank you,
The Photoshop team
