Not able to save documents in Photoshop (Beta)

Quite a weird scenario, I am unable to save documents which are open in the software. After spending hours working on these documents, the save dialogue box just refused to appear both when doing file>save as or closing the document and getting the save prompt. Not quite sure what seems to be the issue here and have tried a few different ways to save the documents but no definite solution. Could just be a once off random bug as I could save previously.

The attached screenshot shows the dialogue box appears but once you select save, nothing seems to happen.
