Opening PSDs

I removed normal photoshop from my installed apps so that it would prioritize PS (Beta) but any time i click on a PSD to open it defaults to Illustrator. Even when i right click > open > ... Photoshop is the 3rd/4th option in the list.

Change your file associations in Finder to associate the psd extension with Photoshop. (Cmd+I or File menu > Get Info.

Or launch Photoshop and choose File menu > Open.
