P: Nano Banana not available in latest Photoshop Beta

I just installed the latest Photoshop Beta (27.0), the notes for which say that the Nano Banana image model is included. But when I attempt to use Generative Fill, the only models available in the dropdown are Firefly models 1 & 3 - no Nano Banana.

Correct answer eyeland99

Don't know what is causing problems for other users, but I have been able to use both the Nano Banana & Flux Context Pro image models successfully since I installed the newer update the day after I posted my original comment.

Hi, I've installed PS Beta, the Nano Banana plugin is here but whenever I try to use it, nothing happens. No error, nothing. It just starts generating with the prompt I've wrote, even the simpliest of things, it appears "Generating" but then nothing happens. What am I missing here?

Actually, I recommend using this unofficial plugin. It not only supports Nanobanana but also Seedream 4K. Plus, you don’t need a Creative Cloud subscription. I’ve been using it myself, and it’s fantastic! nano banana plugin for photoshop

after you buy the plugin, how much costs every generation?

Julianne Kost also has a demo video on YouTube.

I assume that means Terry White will too; if he doesn't have one already...

I beleieve I've figured it out. The new models weren't showing up for me innitially, but I think the key is to click "try now" when it prompts you to explore new features upon opening photoshop for the first time

Hi,  I have Ps beta 27.0 (9/25/25) and I just used the Nano Banana & Flux models to make a quick rev to an old photo of a brick house (low res and blurry). I asked the models to 1st add an American eagle to the chimney, then add a Williamsburg-like crest to the side of the building and finally to improve the details, depth and dimension on the architecture and stone wall. It did it! I didn't do any other processing besides that.

Accessed the models by making a selection, hitting generative fill, typing in a prompt and choosing a model from the Contextual Taskbar (it may be under "G" - but I just hovered until I saw an option in there for models). Captions under photos say what's what.

Now question is whether to use Super Resolution or what to scale the low res models output and retain details... Wish something like Topaz's Gigapixel was integrated into Ps for scaling and retaining details.

It is! Look under Image menu!

Cool! I'll check it out. Thx!

Well, I tried that Image > Gen Upscale out and was disappointed. It only upscales on fixed integer amounts of 2x or 4x. We, as users, cannot create a custom value (for ex., 1.5x or 1.25x) and it has a relatively low max upscale ceiling for output size (I was working on moderately sized images).

I, not very easily (it felt like I was in a clunky Affinity Photo 2 tool ....) had to switch over to Image Size and make manual adjustments there to downsize before I could use Gen Upscale. And, there weren't even any guidelines provided (for me as a photog vs math-y type) to say something like, "You must ensure the longest edge of the image you want to upscale is < N".  After I did all that, the upscaled output appeared like a duplicate doc vs adding the output to my in progress layers stack.

There's got to be a more efficient and flexible way to design that AI upscale functionality as inherent to Ps so users don't  have to rely on a pricey 3rd party (subscription) plugin. Especially given how low res AI generative content currently is. It seems like a critical part of the content generation equation to develop accurate, flexible AI composites upscaling further. IMO.

Thx again for the pointer to investigate.

As of this morning's update (09/25/2025) to Photoshop Beta, I now have the two new partner models that includes Nano Banana.

This is a screen shot from Terry White's Sneak Peek that he posted two weeks ago.  He is using the option the Contextual Task Bar to open that window.

If you check his workflow in the video, you'll see he is basically just using Generative Fill.

I updated today, and I'm using  v27.0.0 m.3235

What gives @CShubert  ?
