Photoshop (Beta) 27.6 won't update.

Photoshop (Beta) 27.6 won't update. It generally stalls or fails at 40 or 41% complete. I have plenty of space on my C:\ Drive. I’m using Windows 10.

I’ve tried rebooting and retrying 27.6 update. Fail.
I’ve deleted the adobeTemp folder and retried installing update to no avail.
I’ve uninstalled the 27.5 Beta and failed at reinstalling the 27.5 package.
I reinstalled 27.4 Beta with success and updated 27.5 with success.
Beta 27.6 update still stops at 41%.

The error I keep getting is this.

Here’s an update on my ongoing experience with the Adobe “Merry‑Go‑Round” method of support regarding the Photoshop Beta installer issue.

Around 03/31/26, I contacted Adobe Help for technical assistance with the Photoshop Beta update problem. I outlined every issue and every action I had already taken, all leading to the same result: the Photoshop Beta 27.6 update consistently crashes at ~43%.

    First Support Session

The first agent (after taking control of my system) repeated most of the same troubleshooting steps I had already performed. After a reboot, he attempted a few additional actions and then began looking into uninstalling my current Photoshop Beta. Suddenly, my machine rebooted again — and when I came back online, the agent was gone. No reconnection. No callback, despite having my home number specifically for that purpose.

    Second Support Session

I contacted Help again and was connected to a different agent who also took control of my system. Part way through that session, we were disconnected for the second time. At that point, after re‑explaining all the troubleshooting steps I had already taken twice, to two different agents. I stopped trying to resolve the issue that night.

    AdobeCare on X

I also reached out to AdobeCare on X, hoping for a more direct escalation path. Unfortunately, they simply redirected me back to the same online support channels that had already disconnected me twice and provided no resolution. After repeating the same information across multiple platforms, I eventually gave up. Every avenue of support has led me in a circle with no actual technical assistance.

    Issue Closed Without Resolution

To make matters worse, Adobe closed my support case on April 2nd, despite the problem being unresolved and despite the repeated disconnections during remote sessions. The issue was marked as closed without any follow‑up, explanation, or confirmation that the installer problem had been addressed.

    Where Things Stand

At this stage, I’m genuinely considering canceling my entire Creative Cloud subscription. I’ve reached out for support multiple times, been disconnected twice with no explanation, and received no meaningful technical assistance. For a service that costs roughly $75 a month, I expect a basic level of competence and continuity from Adobe’s support team.

Right now, it feels like I’m being brushed off rather than helped. This has been extremely disappointing, and I’m hoping someone from Adobe can step in with actual technical guidance or escalate this to a team that can properly address the installer and Beta crashing issues.

    Troubleshooting I’ve Already Performed

    • Ran Creative Cloud in Administrator mode — same crash at ~43%.

    • Uninstalled Beta and reinstalled full 27.4, because full installers for 27.5 and 27.6 both crashed.

    • Updated 27.4 > 27.5 using the standalone update (successful).

    • Attempted 27.6 update again — still crashes.

    • Tried the Exit Code 127 fix, including granting full Admin permissions to the “adobeTemp folder — no change.

    • At least the errors & warnings were a little fewer, but same results

    Current Situation

I’ve been waiting for Photoshop Beta 27.7 to be released, but it’s unusual — Photoshop Beta typically updates multiple times per week, and there has been no new build since late March. That alone makes me wonder if Adobe is aware of a larger installer issue.

Here’s an update. Today, 03/27/26 I tried to update again along with the InDesign update.

Photoshop Beta went a bit farther this time to 43% before crapping out.

AI analysis of the error script tells me the “Photoshop.spd” payload is still corrupted, even after the “Error 127” fix suggested by Adobe, which entailed giving full control to System and Admin privileges to the C:\adobeTemp folder, and turning off anti-virus for the duration of the update.

I still got “Path:C:\adobeTemp folder already exists” in the error script.

    InDesign update installed just fine.

Will post any further updates to the problem.
