Question

Photoshop Beta – Embroidery filter not working

Hi team,

I’m experiencing a critical issue with the Embroidery filter in Photoshop Beta, which makes me unable to continue my work.

  • Photoshop Beta version: 26.11

  • OS: Windows 11 (64-bit)

  • GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4060 with latest Studio Driver installed

  • Tested also in 26.9 – same problem

  • In earlier versions up to 26.8, the Embroidery filter worked fine

What happens:

  • The filter appears in the menu, but when applied, nothing happens.

  • Already tried:

    • Updated to the latest Studio Driver

    • Switched to Image → Mode → 8 Bits/Channel, RGB

    • Reset preferences

    • Reinstalled Photoshop Beta

Unfortunately, the problem persists. Since my workflow fully depends on this filter, I cannot continue my work until this is fixed.

Could you please confirm if this is a known bug, and if there’s a workaround or planned fix?

Thank you!

Hi @Nicky_K5523 we want to make sure you remember that Ps Beta is not to be used for critical business work, it is a beta app that changes and is updated and features can change or be removed all together.  You may want to review the agreement to use Ps Beta here:

"16.2 Pre-release Software Additional Terms. If the Software is pre-commercial release or beta software (“Pre-release Software”), then this section applies. The Pre-release Software does not represent final product from Adobe, and may contain bugs, errors, and other problems that could cause system or other failures and data loss. Adobe may never commercially release the Pre-release Software. If Customer received the Pre-release Software pursuant to a separate written agreement, such as the Adobe Systems Incorporated License Agreement for Pre-release Software, then Customer’s use of the Software is also governed by such agreement. Customer will promptly return or destroy all copies of Pre-release Software upon the earlier of Adobe’s request or upon Adobe’s commercial release of such Software. CUSTOMER’S USE OF PRE-RELEASE SOFTWARE IS AT ITS OWN RISK. SEE SECTIONS 6 AND 8 FOR LIMITED WARRANTY AND LIABILITY LIMITATIONS RELATED TO PRE-RELEASE SOFTWARE."

Of course we always want Ps Beta to work without issues, but this is the risk using a beta application.

1. Try resetting Prefs for the Beta:
/Users/yourname/Library/Preferences/ Photoshop Beta Settings (Mac Ventura)
/Users/yourname/Library/Preferences/Adobe\ Photoshop\ \(Beta\)\ Settings (Mac)

C:\Users\user name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop (Beta)\Adobe Photoshop (Beta) Settings

Launch BETA Photoshop While Pressing The Keyboard Shortcut
With Photoshop closed, press and hold Shift+Ctrl+Alt (Win) / Shift+Command+Option (Mac) on your keyboard and then Launch Photoshop the way you normally would.

2. It may help if we could see your Photoshop beta System Info. Launch Photoshop beta, and select Help >System Info...and copy/paste the text in a reply.
