Question

Photoshop gradient looks different when exporting and in exported image than on artboard

Could this be raised as an issue? I have read in another post to convert the gradient into a smart object but surely that shouldn't be the solution. I don't want to enter into a smart object every time I need to edit the gradient if I need to.
I am encountering the issue seen in the images attached.
The gradient looks different on export and in the exported image.

On the left side is the artboard, and on the right side is the image being exported, and once exported it looks like on the right-hand side. Why? This wasn't an issue until now, Please fix this

Update:
Additional info, just thought to try. This happens when I have another artboard besides this. Once I deleted that one (which again shouldn't be a solution) the export was working fine.

Please fix this, I can't have a separate file for each artboard 😄
Gradients are not overlapping each artboard but seems like it thinks it does.

Hi @viktoriap59157741!

I totally understand your frustration.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to reproduce this issue on my end. Could you let me know what version of Photoshop and operating system you're using? Is this happening with every file you create with multiple artboards and gradients, or is it just this one? Also, how are you exporting the image? Could you share your export settings?

Thanks a bunch!

Alek

I am just realising (I seem to always forget when reporting some bugs or questions).
I use Photoshop beta.
And Also windows 11. I am seeing an update is available for Photoshop beta.
I usually export through the artboards by selecting all artboards I need > right click > export as
