Hi, I simply hope that Adobe will soon find a solution. I finally pay monthly for a product which ends with Photoshop version 26 for me, whereas other users have now the benefit of version 27.7.

I’ve had the same problem since Photoshop version 27.4; in version 27.3, everything works fine.

It's been stopped working for a while now. Maybe it's the computer's fault, not necessarily the program's, because my friend's computer with the same version works fine. I've updated the graphics drivers, processor drivers, motherboard drivers, etc., but nothing helps...

I have the same problem, and nothing has helped so far. I changed option to More Stable in the image preferences, I updated GPU driver and I also reinstal Photoshop. Nothing has worked so far. As soon as you switch to the object selection tool, the "people detection" wheel starts spinning in the top menu. However, the tool is unable to complete this detection, and as a result, I believe direct selection doesn't work either. Can anyone help?

I am sorry. I asked in wrong thread (I haven’t beta version). I moved my question to the correct forum.

It doesn't matter if it's a beta or a regular version. It doesn't work on both versions

I have exactly the same problem and nothing helps...Program tries to find objects in the image but is unable to do so and  search bar stands still…. HELP

Yep, I had to switch to regular one because of this. I was using beta for couple months due to normal version being bugged out, but then beta started acting up with this. The only ‘fix’ would be to open and close it multiple times until it starts working properly. For example, I’d open photoshop, import image and try selecting something, it would crash out right away. The only way to avoid that would be to import image, wait for couple minutes and use remove background tool. That would prevent the thing to fail and it would work until photoshop eats up ram and crashes. I installed it yesterday and the same thing would happen. Both on windows pc and macbook.

Yep, same issues.

It used to happen sometimes, but for the past few days it happens right away after opening photoshop and trying to work on an image. it seems like also every Ai feature stops working as well, such as remove tools, and also generative ai after selecting something, contextual bar doesnt even pop up (no, its not hidden).

main reason i use beta is because it’s performance is way better than the regular one. it doesn’t have weird crashes and bugs and also seems to work faster. but for the past few days its unusable. tried going back to earlier versions and still got the same issues :(

Almost everything is the same here. I've tried older versions, and even the basic Photoshop (not Beta) installation, and I still get the same generative AI-based errors as you.

I’ve an M2 Macbook Pro, everything working without error with the same subscription. Everything seems to be fine on other hardware, at least in my case. Who knows?...

After installing the regular version and the latest update (from yesterday?), it seems to work fine atm

Yes, I have also being facing the same problem. The command to 'Remove Background' or 'Select Subject' is superficial and is not strong in implementing or doing its job consistently.

Hi Aravindan,

Can you please try this and let us know if it helps? Go to Preferences > Image Processing > Selections Processing > and if Faster is the option selected, please change it to More Stable and relaunch Photoshop.

Thank you!

Hi @Bobhandal

Try resetting Prefs for the Beta:
/Users/yourname/Library/Preferences/ Photoshop Beta Settings (Mac Ventura)
/Users/yourname/Library/Preferences/Adobe\ Photoshop\ \(Beta\)\ Settings (Mac)

C:\Users\user name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop (Beta)\Adobe Photoshop (Beta) Settings

Launch BETA Photoshop While Pressing The Keyboard Shortcut
With Photoshop closed, press and hold Shift+Ctrl+Alt (Win) / Shift+Command+Option (Mac) on your keyboard and then Launch Photoshop the way you normally would.
