selection marks are gone

whwn you select a picture the selection squeres are gone

If you mean that the "marching ants" outline of a selection is not showing, go to the View menu and make sure "Extras" is checked. If it is, go to View menu/Show and make sure "Selection Edges" is checked as well.

      Hi @M Baumann go to the Move tool and check the options bar at the top. Make sure "Show Transform Controls" is checked.
