Hello,

I am experiencing a bug when using the Spot Healing Brush, Remove Tool, and Healing Brush in Adobe Photoshop.

The tools behave unpredictably and produce anomalies that are difficult to describe. They do not follow the cursor movement. Instead, they start from a completely different location and perform actions that do not match my input.

Steps to reproduce:

Select any of the mentioned tools (Spot Healing Brush, Remove Tool, Healing Brush)

Start brushing over an area

Observe that the stroke does not follow the cursor and jumps to another location

Expected result:
The tool should follow the cursor precisely and apply corrections where I paint.

Actual result:
The tool starts from a different location and applies unexpected, incorrect movements.

Mine is doing that as well! I cant even finish editing photos and this is getting ridiculous. The Remove tool, lasso and the spot remove tool both are acting like this

This is not ok when people are paying so much for a service.

Hi @Gnoemad let’s try a couple things to see why this might be happening.

1. Try resetting Prefs for the Beta:
/Users/yourname/Library/Preferences/ Photoshop Beta Settings (Mac Ventura)
/Users/yourname/Library/Preferences/Adobe\ Photoshop\ \(Beta\)\ Settings (Mac) 

C:\Users\user name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop (Beta)\Adobe Photoshop (Beta) Settings

Launch BETA Photoshop While Pressing The Keyboard Shortcut
With Photoshop closed, press and hold Shift+Ctrl+Alt (Win) / Shift+Command+Option (Mac) on your keyboard and then Launch Photoshop the way you normally would.

2. It may help if we could see your Photoshop beta System Info. Launch Photoshop beta, and select Help >System Info...and copy/paste the text in a reply.

Thank you for the reply @Gnoemad and info. We did watch the video and wanted to start at the beginning in trying to resolve this.

One thing to also do, if there is an update for your driver, please update it.

Also, is the video you shared using the latest Ps Beta as listed in your sysinfo? The Tool Bar Options on the top do not look correct based on what is current.

Ever since the most recent update, I’m having these exact same issues. I’ve even taken it upon myself to mess with the settings, completely uninstall the application and re-download, as well as invest in a new computer mouse (none of these changes have mattered).

I really hope this bug gets fixed soon.

I just received update 27.6.x, but the situation remains unchanged. I even installed version 27.4.x for testing — same issue. I updated again to the latest 27.6, so now all that’s left is to wait for a future version with a fix. Unfortunately, some of us are losing money in the meantime.
