text not showing

Hi Yvette.

Possible reasons for text not showing:

Text is the same colour as the background.

Text layer is hidden behind another layer.

Tex is so tiny you can't see it.  This is not as unlikely as you might think, and can happen when you create a new image, and confuse image size inches for pixels, and inadvertantly end up with a canvas >30,000 pixels wide.  

Text layer is outside the document window.

Try Ctrl clicking the text layer's icon which will load it as a selection, and show you where it is located, and what size it is.
