Question

Unable to upload PB Beta

I uninstalled PS Beta because I kept getting the pop-up box telling me that I needed an upgrade even though on Cloud it appeared that I was up to date.

I thought I’d reinstall it but so far no luck.  I keep getting a message saying ‘Installation failed’.  Retry doesn’t help.

What can I do?

Neither am I because I did uninstall the older version before trying to install the newer version.

However, I'll take it whatever the reason...........

@Redhartotter That is the only way to update PS Beta - uninstall the pervious then redresh CC desktop and reinstall a new version. Not sure why you weren't seeing the latest update unless you didnt refresh/restart the CC desktop app first.

I've managed to install version 25.4.0!!!!  I don't know how it happened.  I thought I'd try again, so I uninstalled the earlier version I installed this morning and gave it another go and it worked.  I don't know if it had anything to do with installing/uninstalling the earlier version but who cares!  Thanks to all who replied.

An update in this ongoing problem.....

I uploaded PS Beta 25.3.0 this  morning without any problems.

But, of course, it has the update reminder popping up...

@Redhartotter go to your standard version of Photoshop/help menu/System info and copy/paste the details here.

Thanks Kevin.  I have always performed a complete uninstall/reinstall of PS Beta in order to update.

@Redhartotter most PS betas will not show an "update" in the CC Desktop tool - it requires you to completely uninstall the current beta, then refresh your CC desktop tool to show the new available download. Betas sometimes require a full reinstall not just incremental updates.

Thanks Trevor.   I've never heard of the Cleaner Tool but I looked it up and it seems a bit daunting for me.

I have unstalled then reinstalled PS Beta a number of times without any problems.  The only reason I did it was because of that annoying pop-up telling me it had been 6 weeks since I updated - which was not the case.

My Mac OS version is Ventura 13.3.1

You might need to use the Cleaner Tool.  It's a bit of a mission, so read the instructions carefully before starting.

You could try reinstalling the Creative Cloud desktop app first, but I'd be inclined to wait a while to see if any Mac user respond to your thread.  Can you tell us exactly what your OS version is?  There are known issues with Ventura and Sonoma.

Good luck.
