Upgraded PS beta 25.5 today - no longer able to open files in beta or standard PS

Upgraded PS beta 25.5 today - no longer able to open files in beta or standard PS

 

PS opens but freezes when try to open eith jpg or RAW file. Only able to quit program via Task Manager. Nothing else is responsive.

 

Computer details:


Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10750H CPU @ 2.60GHz 2.59 GHz
Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.8 GB usable)
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

Hey, @Ian3009516298vh. Welcome to the Photoshop Community. I'll need more info to help you figure this out.

Please share the system info from Photoshop Help > System info > Copy & paste into a text document > upload & attach here. 

 

What troubleshooting steps have you tried already?

Try uninstalling & re-installing Photoshop 2024 & Photoshop (beta) from the Creative Cloud desktop app.

 

If this does not help, ensure Photoshop (beta) is in the default state, go to the location of the preference folder below, and rename it to backup. https://adobe.ly/3O4zXqt

 

  • Windows 10/11: Users/[user name]/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop (Beta) [version]
  • Press Windows + R & type this is the Run Window - %APPDATA%\Adobe

  • Rename the Adobe Photoshop folder by adding a .old at the end. (Adobe Photoshop 2024/(beta) > Rename > Adobe Photoshop 2024/(Beta). old)

 

These changes will give a fresh start to Photoshop (beta) as a fresh install. Let me know if the issue exists.
