Version 24.6 saving while recording action includes filename in the save path when it should not...

I was trying to make a simple save as PNG action when photoshop kept including the filename of the image I used to create the action in the save path. This resulting in multiple images all being written with the original filename, instead like before just using the folder path and save the file by it's own name.
