Question

White Point has gone dark Photoshop Beta

Out of the blue, I cannot select the white point of the image using curves or levels. It darkens the image. I have been doing this to select a true white background for years, and it just doesn't work anymore in Beta, but it is working in Photoshop 26.5.0

This is for RGB and CMYK images. The first shot is the original, and the second shot is trying to select the white point.

Running Mac OS Sequoia 15.5, Photoshop Beta 27.0.0

Where are you clicking, Cindi? I assume in the white (nominal) background?

--edit --

The "original" file in the left  preview that you posted is R/G/B 255/255/255,~1298x852 [Background appears white]

while

the "second shot" file in the right preview that you posted is R/G/B 225/223/223, ~1020x838 [Background appears gray]

Ps 26.11.0

It is not setting the white point when I click on any areas that are not as white usually the shadow or closer to the floor or corners.  But it doesn't matter where I click whether it be white or deeper it is giving the same result. I've been working with photoshop everyday since photoshop 5 and I've never seen this before. This has to be a glitch.  Photoshop 25 is working normally.

I think your post needs to be moved to the Ps Beta forum.
