2022 Photoshop don't work with EPSON 4490 PHOTO Scanner

2022 Photoshop don't work with my EPSON Perfection 4490 PHOTO Scanner. The Screen showed: "Failed to open a session onthe the devise  (-9921) "and "Failed to open a connection to the devise (-21345).

This will never work. It was probably intended to use the TWAIN plugin, but TWAIN is long dead. No 64 bit TWAIN was ever developed.

 

Use the Epson software standalone, it will work splendidly.

Seems like you may be trying to scan straight into PS from the Epson? So that would require an up-to-date compatible plug-in. Can you not scan using Epson's own software and then open the file in Photoshop?

Hi. That is an excellent scanner - but very very old. Firstly, please make sure your scanner driver is the right one for your Operating System version. 
Please know that it's been a LONG time since Photoshop directly supported direct scanning using scanner/printer drivers. Please try your scan using the Mac Image Capture app (or from within the scanner driver, itself, if available). If you have difficulty with that, I suggest taking a look at the third party application VueScan. They offer demos of their software, to ensure it works before you buy.
